
Among us is a diversified community. Clemson is a diverse University. The programs, awards, the Intercultural Centers, and Projects, Clemson provides, helps display Clemson University as a diverse community.
This picture shows the step into the right direction. In 2000, President Barker created “The President’s Council on Community and Diversity”. The mission of this council is to help Clemson achieve its goals of promoting diversity and identify the status of diversity on the campus.
The W.I.S.E program is another step forward in promoting diversity in the Clemson community and campus. This program is designed to help and support females in engineering and science majors. The W.I.S.E program helps women make new friends, be successful in college, and help women start their journey towards a successful career.
The Intercultural Achievement Awards Ceremony recognizes multicultural and international students who have a cumulative GPR of 3.4 or higher. This is another multicultural program to display the diverse community we are involved in.
Clemson’s main center for diversity is the Gantt Intercultural Center. The mission of Gantt Intercultural Center is to provide and support services for minorities and international students. Furthermore, to provide and present, the community to recognize, celebrate, and appreciate an ever growing diverse community.
The GIC (Gantt Intercultural Center) provides intercultural students with their own newsletter. This newsletter highlights major events, programs and services provided for multicultural students each year.

No matter where you are in the world today, we are surrounded by communities flourishing in diversity. Having a diverse community means being made up of distinct characteristics and qualities. The Clemson community is also a part of this and already attracted many different types of students to its campus.
Clemson is a diverse community and Clemson displays an understanding and acceptance of all people, no matter what gender, age, race, religion, or ethnic background in many different ways.
